How to use Bluetooth headphones with a Nintendo Switch via the USB-C port
You'll need an adapter with a male USB-C. The one we used for this guide is the GuliKit Route Air Bluetooth Adapter, which included a USB-C to USB adapter for docked mode.
Playing in handheld mode
- Plug the GuliKit Route Air Bluetooth Adapter into the USB-C port found on the bottom of the Nintendo Switch.

Turn your Switch on. The GuliKit won't work if the Switch is off or in standby mode.
- Hold down either the GuliKit's A or B button for three seconds until the white light blinks quickly beneath it.

Set your Bluetooth headphones to the pairing status.
- Place the headphones and GuliKit near eachother until paired.

You'll know pairing was successful when the GuliKit's white light becomes constant.
Playing in docked mode
- Plug the included USB to USB-C adapter into the GuliKit Route Air.

Plug the adapter and Route Air into the Switch dock.
- Hold down either the A or B button for three seconds until the white light blinks quickly beneath it.

Follow the instructions for your Blutooth headphones to get them to the pairing status.
- Place the headphones and GuliKit near eachother until paired.

How to use Bluetooth headphones with a Nintendo Switch via the headphone jack
You'll need to get a Bluetooth transmitter with an audio-in jack. The one we used for this guide is the TROND 2-in-1 receiver, which included a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable in the box, so it comes with everything you need.
- The Trond 2-in-1 Bluetooth transmitter uses an internal battery, so you'll need to use the included charging cable to get it to a full charge. The light around the power button is red when the battery isn't full but turns off when charged.

When fully charged, unplug the Trond transmitter from the charger.
- Make sure the switch on the Trond transmitter is on TX mode.

Plug the included jack adapter into the TROND 2-in-1 Bluetooth transmitter.
- Plug the Trond's AUX cable into the headphone jack on the Nintendo Switch.

Hold down the MFB button for three seconds to turn it on.
- Double tap the MFB button to activate the pairing mode.

Follow the instructions for your Bluetooth headphones to get them to the pair mode.

Place your headphones and the adapter near each other and allow them to pair. You'll know that pairing was successful when the transmitter's blue led stops flashing and remains constant.
Experiencing an issue with connecting?
First, make sure your headset is properly charged and turned on. This is something we all look over from time to time! If you're able to connect your headset to another device, but not your Switch, it might not be compatible with your console. If you're unsure, you should contact the adapter's manufacturer to work through the pairing process.
